We took a day trip to New York! Here's how our day went:
We ate lots of food including a stop at my favorite Grey's Papaya to split their "Recession Special" (2 hotdogs and the best papaya juice on the planet for $4.45 - score!).
All of the walking and riding tired us out, so we slept for most of the ride home.
We managed to have a really simple, fun adventure on a pretty tight budget thanks to all-day subway passes, bolt buses, free galleries, and cheap food. Tomorrow, I want to write about the highlights of gallery hopping and the odd encounter I had in one of them. We probably won't be able to fit a big vacation in this summer so I definitely want to plan more cheap, fun day trips. Do you have any recommendations or favorite one-day-vacations you've taken?
i'm looking forward to hearing about the galleries - i never gallery hop because there are so many it's overwhelming and i don't know where to begin.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I looked up a few reviews and recommendations from the website chelseaartgalleries.com first just to get an idea of what was showing. But, even just giving yourself an hour or two to walk around and pop your head in to open galleries can be fun. You never know what surprises you might find.
