We took a day trip to New York! Here's how our day went:

Bright eyed and busy-tailed on the Bolt bus.

We loved the fantastic Line of Fashion Show held at the Society of Illustrators.

We ate lots of food including a stop at my favorite Grey's Papaya to split their "Recession Special" (2 hotdogs and the best papaya juice on the planet for $4.45 - score!).

We walked around Chelsea and stopped in about a million galleries.

We people watched in Bryant Park.

We rode just about every color of subway line.

All of the walking and riding tired us out, so we slept for most of the ride home.

We managed to have a really simple, fun adventure on a pretty tight budget thanks to all-day subway passes, bolt buses, free galleries, and cheap food. Tomorrow, I want to write about the highlights of gallery hopping and the odd encounter I had in one of them. We probably won't be able to fit a big vacation in this summer so I definitely want to plan more cheap, fun day trips. Do you have any recommendations or favorite one-day-vacations you've taken?

  2. I know what you mean. I looked up a few reviews and recommendations from the website chelseaartgalleries.com first just to get an idea of what was showing. But, even just giving yourself an hour or two to walk around and pop your head in to open galleries can be fun. You never know what surprises you might find.
