This is my husband's first attempt at a stop motion animation film based off of one of his sculptures. It's a quick three minutes, but since he worked on all of the shooting, editing, visual and sound effects himself (as well as making all of the objects in the film), it's been a multi-month labor of love. I really love it and hope he finishes telling the rest of the story soon.

"M'aidez or "Help Me" in French is the origin of the "Mayday" distress call that pilots use.
This short was originally envisioned as a larger story. The finished project acts a teaser for the rest of the piece. The narrative continues after this to show what happens to this stranded astronaut as his food, water, and mind begin to dwindle. Perhaps in the future I will be able to tell the whole story in some form or another, but for now this is what I have.
I created the figure with found objects, kit parts, LED lights, hand sewn fabrics, Sculpey, and acrylic paint. You can see more "making of" information at my blog:
