At the beginning of the week, I was contacted to create some small graphics for the mother's day landing page of a new luxury shopping website called ahalife.com. The graphics were to be used for different categories of mothers - the baker, the do-gooder, the fashonista, etc. The deadline for the first graphic, "the baker", was pretty tight, just a few hours, but I tried to turn in a few different color and type placement variations.

The middle image just features the initial line work, and wasn't one of the options that I turned in, but I kind of like it. I think I like the image on the left the best. The actual graphic would only have been this size:
This is one final color variation - grayscale with the site's orange accent color.

I think they all turned out just okay, a little stiff, and with more time I could have come up with something better, but that's the nature of quick turnaround assignments. The company ended up deciding that illustrated graphics would overpower the rest of the site, so I never got to complete the rest of the categories. Oh well, it would have been a fun lifestyle assignment, but that's just how it goes sometimes. I had to at least put these one up on the blog so someone other than me would see them.

  1. I really like them. Agree the greyscale one is best as well. Thanks for sharing!
